BONDERITE® L-GP 2420 ACHESON

73

BONDERITE® L-GP 2420 ACHESON is a graphite, solvent-based, penetrating dry film lubricant that dries quickly to form a lubricating film on metal surfaces.

Product Overview

BONDERITE® L-GP 2420 ACHESON (also known as DAG 2420) is a dry film lubricant that penetrates tight tolerances to form a durable, protective coating. Formulated with superfine graphite dispersed in an odorless aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, it produces a consistent, smooth film when applied. Due to its solvent-based nature, it dries rapidly, reducing downtime in industrial operations. The cured coating reduces friction and wear, which is crucial for protecting mating parts from seizing, thus extending equipment life and efficiency. The versatility of BONDERITE® L-GP 2420 ACHESON means it performs effectively in numerous industrial applications. Because it leaves minimal residue, it is particularly well suited for bakery chain and conveyor chain operations, where cleanliness is paramount. It is supplied ready for use and requires minimal surface preparation, easing the application process for the user. It can be applied using spray equipment or brush or dip methods, offering flexibility in application techniques.

Problems Solved

Traditional, water-based dry film lubricants can have slow drying times, which can lead to increased production downtime. Users will often use solvent-based lubricants to resolve this issue and speed up cure time, but many solvent-based lubricants produce a lingering odor that creates an unpleasant or unhealthy working environment. Additionally, large graphite particle size, poor graphite distribution, and settling can result in an inconsistent application, leading to poor adherence and performance. Traditional lubricants may break down in high-temperature settings, causing wear and degradation on metal surfaces. For applications with tight tolerances, some lubricants may have difficulty penetrating between surfaces, resulting in premature wear, seizure, and galling. Residue from dry film lubricants can also be an issue in applications exposed to dirt and dust that require high cleanliness, such as bakery chains and conveyor chains.
