Reactive lubricant that protects zinc-phosphate coated steel alloys during metal forming operations.
BONDERITE® L-FM T 4400 (also known as BONDERLUBE T 4400) is a reactive lubricant applied to phosphate-coated steel surfaces during cold forming operations, such as extrusion, heading, and tube and wire drawing. This lubricant plays a crucial role in forming processes by reacting with the phosphate-coated metal, creating a durable lubricating coating that reduces surface friction and protects the metal part. By forming a robust layer, BONDERITE® L-FM T 4400 not only enhances the efficiency of metal forming operations but also extends the lifespan of the treated components by preventing wear and tear. The ability of this lubricant to maintain effective adhesion under extreme pressures and temperatures ensures consistent performance across varied applications. Moreover, its usage significantly contributes to improved product quality by ensuring a smooth finish, which is essential in industries where precision and surface integrity are paramount.
The concentration varies depending on the operation, but a recommended starting point is 33 to 50 lbs. of BONDERITE® L-FM T 4400 in a 100 gallon bath.
